Zeal for Teal

Your teal
Is simply unreal
It has endless appeal
Even more than Ally McBeal
Or Eugene O’Neill

Your teal
Is so surreal
That church bells peal
In order to reveal
My complete and utter zeal
Which I can no longer conceal

To get an inkling of how I feel,
I’d give up oatmeal
And change my name to Cecille
For one more glimpse of your
Make-me-squeal, close-the-deal,
I-can’t-see-any-other-colors-on-the-wheel teal

Little Altars Everywhere

It dawned on me recently that one of the ways I most like to play is to create an altar. And that I have little ones all over my home! Flowers, candles, crystals, my daughter's art projects, beads, Buddhas, and gilded elephants have all played a part in these tableaus at different times. Many, if not all of them, are gifts from loved ones.

Some of the altars last for a week, season or an entire year.

All of them create a sense of sacredness that I carry with me and recognize in quiet corners like this one at the National Museum of the American Indian.

Or at a secluded section of The Lake in Central Park.

Now it's your turn to count your altars and your blessings while you're at it!

Hooray for "Fun" Shui!

A little Feng Shui
Goes a long way
It can brighten your day
To put things away
When you put things away
You have more time to play
A little Feng Shui goes a long way
A little Feng Shui goes a long way!

In the Pink

Take your soul
for a stroll
Treat your heart
to nature's art

Remember my mini lament and subsequent surrender to the fact that I couldn't spend as much time in Central Park anymore? Well, my noggin must have gotten on the case because I soon afterward realized that, with a slight course correction, I could walk through the park for part of my commute, snap the occasional picture of an awesome blossom, and still make it to work on time. How's that for sublime?
